We come to Patrick's every Tuesday night for pub trivia (hooray Savants of Question! Go Ben and Tom!) and I've developed a pretty good sense of what Patrick's is and isn't. Patrick's is a beer, wings, and burgers joint and they do pretty well at all three. They always have something interesting on tap, a decent selection of other booze, and plenty of tasty beverages (including 1919 Root Beer) for those who don't drink. Patrick's has a ridiculous selection of wing flavors that'll suit any taste, and if you go on the right nights the wings are cheap enough to mix and match so your table can try a bit of everything. The burgers are the star of the show at Patrick's; they have a whole bunch of different and interesting topping combinations, and often have even more fun burgers on special. Half of the star I'm withholding is due to the fact that my burgers are sometimes overcooked past the point of being juicy inside, but the toppings and enough salt and pepper keep them edible. That said, Patrick's isn't an Irish pub. They may have Irish items on the menu now and again and for special occasions, but otherwise the menu lacks any sort of entree options. If you're eating at Patrick's you're eating pub grub, and that's the other half of the star I held back. I really wish traditional Irish pub food (Shephard's Pie, Bangers and Mash, Pasties, etc.) were regular menu items. Patrick's is a college bar, it's walking distance from Gustavus and often has specials which cater to that crowd. They have sports up on TVs all over the bar, and normally has live music at least once a week. That said, Patrick's isn't a dive. The bar itself is sort of divey, but the place is open and lively enough that if you just want to stare at your drink for a few hours you're better off going elsewhere. Patrick's is a family restaurant. The servers are super-friendly and there's a decent selection of kid's menu options. That said, Patrick's isn't a healthy restaurant. The menu is almost entirely short-order and even the salads include cheese and sometimes meats which take them out of the 'smart eating' category. There are a few nods toward vegetarians and burger patties can be subbed out for black bean patties, but if you're counting calories Patrick's is gonna break the bank. Finally, Patrick's is solidly a hometown joint. The place is locally owned and you're likely to see your neighbors there, if only because it's one of the only restaurants in town. That said, Patrick's supports the community and is a registered 'Safe Bar' where any sort of harassment or violence is not at all tolerated. It's a genuinely nice place to go. One final note, always order the Buff Chips as your side. Ermahgerd the Buff Chips are so good.

Perfect pub good, excellent waitstaff, quick service. Had lunch here on the way to Minneapolis and had one of the best meals in a long time. Great burger, awesome potato salad, and quirky but yummy "sloppy nachos" and a pint of bacon with a take-home Guinness glass.

In St Peter for a conference. Our group called ahead a day or two in advance to tell them a party of roughly 30 of us would be coming around 7 on a Sunday night. They had an area sectioned off for us that would only comfortable accommodate 12 people. So we had to to where the band plays. We were meeting new people so the noisy tuba player was a bit much. We asked for water and the server drops off cup and a couple pitchers....... Okay I'll do it myself no big deal. (Only six of us here at that point). When the full group arrived everyone had a drink to start then we were ready to order. Majority of us had traveled all day and we were super hungry. We ordered at 6:45- food didn't hit our table until after 8. 1 hr & 15min + ticket time. Damn. Longggg time to wait. Yes I get it that we were a large group but we gave them a fair heads up. After inhaling our food I asked for checks at 9;05, we weren't all paid and out the door until 9;36. A meal and two drinks took 3 hours. The server didn't seem equipped to handle a group of our size. Highlights: 30 beers on tap. Good prices on happy hour. Buffalo chips were great. My southwest chicken wrap was 6.5/10. Good but not great. Very standard bar food. Most at my table said burgers were dry/overlooked. Low points: ticket times and just service in general was sllloooooowwwwww. I really tried to sympathize with how long EVERYTHING was taking, but I know there are efficient and good ways to take care of a large group. Server was nice but not good with a group. Fries were cold. She forgot my ranch. Also I hate when tip is added to large parties. It did not mention this anywhere on the menu. I hate it when restaurants do this. I would have tipped her more without the 18% addition. Ugh. I'm guessing this place is better going with two or three other people. They were bad with group service. Irritating experience, forgettable food. Won't be back.

Burgers were amazing! Tried three different ones and they were great. I'll also recommend the buff chips, very tasty. Service was quite slow, make sure you're with people you want to spend some time with. Bloody Mary was also delicious

Patrick's is my favorite Irish pub. When passing through, I always want to stop and get their veggie melt and wedges with ranch. Awesome side salads, pizza and famous patty melts too. Spacious place with pool tables, dart boards, arcade games and a jukebox. Bar, tables, louge area, trivia and karaoke nights make a cozy, warm atmosphere. Lots of old photos on the wall. Nice variety of beers on tap & bottle. Service is usually pretty good. For some reason, if you go to Patrick's, you will create fond memories when you're there.

Thanks to Yelp, we found Patrick's while passing through town. We sat at the small side bar not realizing how huge and sectioned off this place was! It was nice though because we didn't have to wait for service as the bartender was right there. Great beer selection and the progressive priced Jameson shot concept is brilliant! Unfortunately Gustavus had a pub crawl the night before and drank through the cheap shots and also drank Patrick's out of the $1 High Life. We still enjoyed a Jameson and some other beers. The bf ordered a burger and opted to try the Bucket Of Death. Again, a brilliant idea! A bucket of hot sauces Patrick's have picked up from all over the place. It was fun to try a few of them. The service, food and atmosphere were all great!! If Patrick's was in the cities it would be a regular stop for us. We'll be stopping in again next month when we pass through St. Peter. The same bartender wasn't there but we still had great service and great burgers!

A classic college bar. Friendly service, LOTS of draft beer choices and consistently good pub grub.

Having been here many times, I have always enjoyed myself at Patrick's. The staff is great and the food is good. Beer selection, drinks and specials are all great. They've sat large unannounced parties with no problems. I always stop on my drive through St. Peter when I have time.

Went to Patricks with my family while we were killing time before visiting the local college. We all loved our burgers and the beer selection was good, but not stellar. Service was not fast, but not painfully slow as some reviews suggested. Would definitely go again.
